Emmitt Till Estate On Lil Wayne Lyric

Some things are just down right disrespectful. Over the weekend, Future released the remix to “Karate Chop” featuring Lil Wayne. Weezy insolently rhymed “Beat that pussy up like Emmitt Till.” In 1955, Emmitt Till was mutilated and murdered for allegedly whistling at a White woman. He was 14 years old. His death was a catalyst in the Civil Rights movement following his open casket funeral. From Kanye West to Remy Ma, Till’s name has been used as punchline to describe the severity of an injury. Reps for the Till Estate recently spoke on the lyric and needless to say, were appalled by the line.
